~ Burning Heart ~

Luke 24

32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

I find myself in the airport once again this morning. Funny, I endured all of traffic, the lines, the security, the chaos, all of it with a gentle smile, often educing such. The love of Christ is absolutely burning in me this morning. To the frowning barista, “It’s all gonna be ok” to the brother on my right “good morning, nice jacket” to the lady on my left, “sure I’ll watch your bag for you”. There is a hum inside me that I cannot contain. What should be considered mundane is an incredible journey of opportunity. Today is going to be awesome. Am I just going to work? No, I am embracing what He has put in me and in front of me. Thank you Lord Jesus for the burning in my heart. I stand in awe of you and your love.

~ Faith Has Come ~

Galatians 3

23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

It doesn’t matter where you were born, which side of the tracks you lived on, who your parents were, your ethnicity, the color of your skin, your social status, none of these matter. It doesn’t matter what you’ve thought, spoken, or done. Faith has come. Jesus, the light of the world, He has paid the price for you, purchased your ticket, redeemed you. By faith you are a child of God, a member of a royal priesthood, a descendant in the divine lineage of God Himself. By faith, you are a member of His household, one of the family, an heir to the promise of eternal life. The old has been exchanged for the new. Praise God! Faith has come! Live by faith in love!

GAS

Perfect love casts out fear and there is just NO FEAR in these two…What a beautiful example of simply living life in love. This is a magnificent demonstration of living OUTSIDE of self-concern and loving the wonderful life we’ve been afforded…

~ Speak Life! ~

2 Corinthians 4

13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Those who live by faith in love should take care to speak by faith in love. Speak life and the fruit is life. Speak death and the fruit is death. Speak nothing and the fruit is nothing. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Speak it in faith and love and so it will be. To the dream He placed in your heart, speak realization. To the bewildered child, speak enlightenment. To the suffering friend, comfort. To the lost, discernment. To the lacking, abundance. To the hurting, comfort. To the fearful, love. To the dry bones, life! Speak life and love and you will live a life in love.

~ Cry Out to Jesus ~

Matthew 20

29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

It was a large crowd, rustling feet, desultory chatter, commotion and excitement, Jesus in the center of it. On the periphery sat two blind men desiring a touch from Jesus. They couldn’t see Him, but they knew He was there. Through all of the noise and pandemonium they cried out. When they were ordered to be silent, even in their darkness, they cried louder. They cried a louder cry of faith, a cry from from the well of their soul, a cry of love and reverence to the Lord. They cried louder and they were answered. They loved and were loved in return. The touch we desire requires giving our full attention in love, absent of fear. A louder cry of passion, a deep bellow, a thundering shout through the darkness toward Jesus. He is always there. Always ready to provide what is needed. We need only cry louder in love.

Psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan,  the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.

~ The Principal Intent ~

1 Corinthians 9

19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

In everything we do or desire, the principal intent of our thoughts and actions must be to impart the gospel of Jesus Christ. This gospel, this truth concerning the new covenant of grace must, at all times, remain in the center, stand as the focal point. This new covenant, rooted in the love of Christ, transcends regulation and edict. It is the love of Christ that covers sin. Life born out of the love of Christ does not accede sin, as sin is apart from the Spirit. Living in this love we find that there is, at the root of all we convey, the principal intent of sharing it with another. Live in love.

Help me to be a better wife ~ 25yrs can leave a lot of stuff for the enemy to play with…          Help me to be a better mother ~ more attentive… Help me to be a better friend ~ always there… Help me to be more like you Lord ~ more like what you scripted in your book. What do I do? My desire is to THINK only as you think, LOVE only as you love, LIVE as you lived.

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” Proverbs 19:21

Your must have more for me? Prepare me ~~ physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually~~

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27

The Daily Mail from PTM ~ 05.13.2013

David Paul Strom

~ Watch Out ~

Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (Philippians 3:17-21 NIV)

As much as we are filled with the love, joy, and peace found in the precious Holy Spirit we must be mindful of the reality that not everyone shares in the truth we’ve received. There are some who wish to destroy those in The Way. They desire that the Word be stopped, snuffed out, silenced. It is for this reason that we, as citizens of heaven, must carefully watch out for one another and take care of one another as we press on, growing in the love and knowledge of Christ. Think on others who believe as we do. Have concern for each other’s welfare when the world encroaches, as the daily battles are fought and won, and as we wait for our Savior’s return. Walk expectantly in His love; watch and wait.

The Daily Mail from PTM ~ 05.09.2013

David Paul Strom

~ The Servant Life ~

Philippians 2

1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:6Who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus lived it. Paul lived it. Others have lived it. The life of a servant. It is a life focused on an outside interest, an exterior purpose, a life lived literally outside of one’s self. It is a life fueled not by the desire to achieve, but by the desire to give, a life lived not to obtain, but to provide, a life not in keeping, but releasing, entrusting, relinquishing. There is no greater an example of a life lived serving than the life of Jesus Christ, who thought nothing of Himself, leaving His high place, in love, at the opportunity to serve the lowest, the neglected, the lost, the nameless. He lived life outside of comfort, convenience, and ease, even and ultimately serving up His very Spirit; all of this without expectation. And the servant was rewarded with the highest honor, the name above every name, the name by which every knee will bow, the name every tongue will confess. Jesus Christ the servant, the giver, became Lord of all heaven and earth.Hallelujah!!! Live in love. Live the servant life. Do it without expectation. Your reward will be immeasurable. Live in love.

The Daily Mail from PTM ~ 05.08.2013

David Paul Strom

~ Preach It Brother ~

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, (Philippians 1:12-18 NIV)

I love reading from Paul, such an amazing example of The love of God. He makes it absolutely clear that his desire is to share the gospel of Christ no matter how, no matter where, no matter when, and no matter whom. His desire was to share the truth and love he had received from Jesus Christ. It is humbling, the truth that our faith can rise and fall depending on our circumstances; Paul, on the other hand, remained faithful to preach regardless of his situation, often turning predicament into prophesy. He didn’t give any attention to who was preaching or why, only that the gospel was preached, constantly encouraging, serving, comforting, and supporting others in The Way. We can all learn from Paul here. Faithful all ways, and faithful always. Live in love with Christ and you will preach an effervescent song.
